2023 has been a heavy year for comic book movies, for the best and for the worst. We started of the year with Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania and wrapped it up with Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom and well… not the best way to either start or finish this but here we go! I’ll be ranking all 8 DC and Marvel movies combined from worst to best. That includes Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, Blue Beetle, The Marvels, Merry Little Batman, Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom.
8. Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania

I don’t think this surprises anyone, Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania was not only the worst comic book movie of the year but also the most disappointing one, we all had high expectations, not very high but at least we wanted the best movie of the trilogy, and for some it actually was but the movie wasn’t able to manage to have good visuals and a good story. A massive disappointment.
7. The Flash

This one was another multiversal mess. The Flash is as bad as Quantumania, at least in my opinion, it’s just not worse because at least it had Keaton’s Batman which saved it from being a massive failure. This was another movie that we had high expectations and it disappointed most part of the audience. The visuals are atrocious, the plot is bland and the villain was pathetic. Specially considering that so many people called it “one of the best super hero movies ever made”.
6. Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom

The last movie of the DCEU. We gotta be fair though, this movie was never planned to be the last movie of this universe but damn that was bad. This movie still had its positive details, I enjoyed some of the plot and some of the action but the movie brings literally nothing new, it’s not bad but it’s just predictably tiring. The movie just doesn’t prove its existence, I’d rather stay with only the first movie, honestly.
5. Blue Beetle

I wasn’t sure if this movie deserved this position or a higher one but I gotta say this one really surprised me positively, it was a heartfelt story that despite its generic premise, it managed to have a really great impact, at least at myself. Definitely one of the best super hero movies of the year for me.
4. The Marvels

I know many people will disagree with me, I totally respect your opinion but I think that The Marvels was slightly better than Blue Beetle. The plot was nothing special but I really had a blast watching this one, I loved the characters and their chemistry and I think it really surprised me positively.
3. Merry Little Batman

I don’t care about what you think. Merry Little Batman was so damn good. I was never expecting this to be as good as it ended up being, a truly achievement for DC. The animation was great, the characters were interesting and so was the concept of this movie, totally loved it.
2. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

I know most of you think this is a Top 1 and I don’t think it’s far from being one from me. This movie is perfect, I don’t have anything to complain about it, it’s literally everything I wanted it to be and more. One of the best movies of the year and one of the best super hero movies of all time.
1. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is the best super hero movie of the year because it combines action, humor, and emotion in a spectacular way. The movie has stunning visuals, catchy music, and witty dialogue that keep the audience entertained and engaged. The movie also has a lot of heart, as it deals with themes of family, friendship, loss, and redemption. My favorite of the year. The perfect conclusion.
