Dune: Part Two Moves To 2024

(Deadline) Warner Bros. announced on Thursday that Dune: Part Two had been delayed to March 14, 2024. With Dune: Part Two being moved to this date, Warner Bros. calendar has had to do a little shifting. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which was originally dated for March, has now been pushed to April 12. Now scheduled on that date was New Line’s animated feature, Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim, which has been pushed back to December 13. The Dune sequel and Godzilla x Kong have no competitions on those new dates. However, Lord of the Rings will be fighting Sony’s reboot of The Karate Kid on December 13.

Barbie Sets IMAX Release

(Variety) Barbie is slowly becoming the highest-grossing release of the year at the domestic box office. With this news, Greta Gerwig’s magnum opus is about to get even bigger. Warner Bros. has set an IMAX run for the film, with a limited one-week release which begins on September 22. This release will also feature brand new exclusive never before seen post-credits footage that have been selected by Greta Gerwig herself.

WGA Says Studios Latest Offer Is Not Yet Good Enough

(Variety) The WGA told members on Wednesday that the latest offer from the studio was “not yet good enough” and that they would continue to fight to address the “existential threats” to the writing profession. An email was sent where the WGA picked out half a dozen areas where it believed the studio offer to fall short. There have also been some conflict between AMPTP and WGA, some writers believe the term offered by AMPTP look good, while the WGA accused AMPTP in an email sent on Thursday of trying to “jam” leadership and cause writers to turn against each other. The WGA have stated that negotiations will continue.

Rick and Morty Season 7 Premiere Date Revealed

(THR) On Thursday, Adult Swim announced the seventh season return of Rick and Morty and promised the new episodes will “raise the bar” after the exit of co-creator Justin Roiland. Rick and Morty will be returning on October 15, at 11 PM and like all the previous seasons, this one will also have 10 episodes. While Hulu’s Solar Opposites was able to find its replacement through Dan Stevens, a replacement has not yet been announced but it is known that they’re looking for a “sound alike”.

Sam Levinson Teases Euphoria Season 3 As A Film Noir Set In A Corrupt World

(Variety) Not much is known about the upcoming season of HBO’s Euphoria, which has been delayed due to scheduling conflicts and is now also suffering from the actors and writers strikes. Though this is all taking place, series creator Sam Levinson was able to offer up a few crumbs of info on the new Elle cover story for Zendaya. Levinson said how he views Season 3 of Euphoria as a “film noir”, where he’ll “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”
