Industry has never been a show for everyone. It is deeply ingrained in the finance world and features some heavy jargon that will probably not be familiar to most general viewers. But despite that, what makes this show accessible is its storytelling and relatable characters. This show has gotten better and better with each season, and season 3 naturally delivers its strongest season yet. Industry Season 3 proves that the show is ready to be HBO’s next sensation.
It was initially sidelined to Monday nights by HBO, but it has finally been promoted to Sunday nights, which is the network’s prime slot for their prestige dramas. The series is created and written by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, and it stars Myha’la, Ken Leung, Harry Lawtey, Marisa Abela, and Sagar Radia in leading roles while Sara Goldberg and Kit Harrington joined the cast this season. The young cast members were newcomers when the show first aired, but most of them have significantly grown and booked big roles since, and also show signs of having star potential.

This season makes Marisa Abela and Ken Leung the main focus. Their story is at the forefront of everything and they get the most screen time as a result. Abela’s stock has arguably grown the most since starring in the show which helped her get lead roles in big projects such as the Amy Winehouse biopic most recently. But she also shows growth as an actor as we see extreme sides of Yasmin right from soft and gentle to fierce and rough. She shines as the lead alongside the seasoned Ken Leung, who’s character also has to deal with a lot this season, and gets tested very often.
Myha’la’s Harper Stern may not necessarily be at the forefront, but she is still pulling the strings, and we see her darkest and most ruthless side. She definitely has a point to prove this season. Sagar Radia as Rishi Ramadani also gets a lot of the spotlight this season, as isn’t just another member of the team anymore. He gets his own episode and his arc is the most compelling one this time. Without giving anything away, you’ll learn a lot about Rishi this season, more than the previous two combined.
Moving on to Harry Lawtey as Robert Spearing, he has always been the least twisted of all the characters and one can’t help but root for him. His performance is so subtle and gentle, yet so effective and the world has always been unfair to him. He has some really heartbreaking moments this season. Kit Harrington brought much-needed star power to this show and gave a strong performance as well. But surprisingly he isn’t there in it a lot. Miriam Petche as Sweetpea Golightly is also a strong new addition and a breath of fresh air. Trevor White as Bill Adler also gets some really good moments.

Season 3 really ups the stakes and that sets up the stage nicely for a thrilling ride. This allowed the intensity to rarely drop and credit to the writers who kept the pacing consistent and carefully handled each arc. This show has always been well-written, but the cohesion and the shock value that this season brings make this the best season yet. The twists and turns always keep you guessing and I almost forgot to mention, It is as funny as it has always been if not funnier. The jokes seldom miss.
The sex and nudity is subdued this time around, but you’ll still see our characters’ kinks and loads of sexual tension regularly. The show would also benefit from a weekly release as most episodes have enough to stand out on their own. Shoutout to Zoe Wittock who directed the two best episodes of the season. The finale is also explosive, it literally goes bang, bang, bang! People who were underwhelmed by the House of the Dragon season 2 finale, will surely be satisfied with Industry’s season 3 finale. It will leave you wanting more.
Industry season 3 finds the firepower to establish itself as a true HBO heavyweight. It feels ready to step out of the shadows and fulfill its potential to become HBO’s next smash hit. Season 3 is the most focused, intense, and emotionally heavy season yet, which elevates it to new heights. Creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay work their magic and deliver a compelling season of television, where each episode delivers favorable returns and a wild finale that almost feels like a series finale. This one is probably going to become your next TV obsession and I can’t wait to see more.
