Paramount Panel At CinemaCon: Everything You Need To Know

We have reached the final day of CinemaCon, with the last two panels. The first panel we’re attending is for Paramount, where we’ll get announcements for upcoming films.

Transformers One

The first film being talked about today is Transformers: One, the animated prequel about how a young Optimus Prime and Megatron went from friends to enemies. A first look at Transformers: One was provided which showcased its unique 3D animation with Elita (Scarlett Johansson), where she gets in a fight and chase with a young Optimus Prime (Chris Hemsworth) and the other Transformers such as Bumblebee and much more.

Transformers/G.I Joe Crossover Movie

It was teased at the end of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts but now we’ve finally gotten confirmation at CinemaCon that the follow-up film to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will indeed be a crossover with G.I. Joe. No further details were given about this project so it’s unknown if the Snake Eyes movie that was released in 2021 will be connected or if they’ll hire an all brand new cast to play the G.I. Joe characters.

The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants

The untitled Spongebob film that was dated for 2025 officially has a title which was revealed at the Paramount panel and it’ll be called, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants which will follow SpongeBob as he travels to the depths of the ocean to face the ghost of the Flying Dutchman.

The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants releases in theaters in 2025.

Upcoming Damien Chazelle Movie

Paramount was able to announce their first film with Academy Award winner Damien Chazelle which he will be directing for them since he signed an overall deal with the studio. Not much is known about the film but it’s rumoured that it’ll be set in a prison and that it is based off an original script that he wrote.

The Smurf Movie

We got some news on The Smurfs Movie today from the Paramount panel as we were revealed the release date and the cast which features:

Rihanna will be writing and recording original songs for the Smurfs movie which she’ll also be starring in as Smurfette as well as co-producing.

The Smurfs Movie releases in theaters on February 14, 2025.

Aang: The Last Airbender

A huge surprise at the Paramount panel was news on the Avatar Universe. The first film in a planned trilogy was announced and will be called Aang: The Last Airbender. We got a whole new voice cast for Team Avatar except for Zuko who will have Dante Basco returning to reprise his role. Dave Bautista has also been cast to voice the villain in Aang: The Last Airbender. Here are the new cast members:

Aang: The Last Airbender will release in theaters on October 10, 2025.
