‘The Cat In The Hat’ Review: A Surprisingly Adorable Emotional Adventure

When you think of Dr. Seuss movies you think of something more whimsical, magical and extremely funny in its own unique way, and I personally love these type of films including Lorax and even Horton Hears A Who which is one of my childhood favorites! And when coming to watch The Cat In The Hat I had a certain expectation that I wasn’t sure if it would actually please me the way those other films did. But it actually did!

“Meet the Cat in the Hat you don’t know. In the wonderfully whimsical tradition of Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat, voiced by Bill Hader, comes to the big screen in his animated theatrical feature film debut, an all-new, epic adventure where mischief, magic and mayhem reign supreme.”

When the film starts, you’re already mesmerized by the different styles of animation, that was something I genuinely loved. Also the songs, the score, the beauty of it all it’s just so incredible. I feel like Bill Hader was perfectly cast as the lead character and he gives such an unique touch to him. He’s funny, adorable and perfectly developed.

One thing I was afraid of going into this movie was that the story might end up feeling generic and soulless. But I couldn’t have been more wrong. It’s such an inspiring, funny, and heartwarming story about childhood, caring for one another, and finding yourself.

What I loved most about this movie was easily all the “Things.” They are simply perfect: cute, funny, and incredibly endearing. At first, I thought they would only make a brief appearance, but every time they were on screen, I didn’t want them to leave. I feel like the movie wraps everything up perfectly, delivering a memorable, cute, and inspiring adventure for all ages. It’s easily one of the most enjoyable animated movies of the year.

As 2026 keeps surprising us, we have another hit in our hands. The Cat In The Hat is one of the best animated movies of the year. It’s cute, emotional, hilarious and gorgeous with many different styles of animation. The perfect film for the holiday season.

The Cat In The Hat releases in theaters on November 5.
