The 2020s started not a very long time ago but since then we had some animated masterpieces, but also some very terrible ones and that’s part of it… We decided to bring you our Top 10 Best Animated Movies Of The Decade So Far. Reminding you that this list does not include movies that released after June 8, 2023.
10. Turning Red
Pixar’s Turning Red is indeed a very controversial movie between audiences, but is a truly remarkable and visually stunning project from the studio that will make you cry, identify and have fun while watching. It’s definitely far from being one of Pixar’s best, but it was a great movie.
9. Encanto
Encanto is magical and enchanting but mostly because of its songs and its heavy emotional charge, it can indeed be considered a Disney classic for some, it’s a great movie and one of the best of the decade.
8. Sing 2
Sing 2 surprised me in every single way possible, I was not expecting an Illumination movie to hit this hard, it’s a huge upgrade from its predecessor and one of the best movies from the studio, a must watch for fans of animation and musicals!
7. Onward
Pixar’s Onward is a very underrated movie in my point of view and also a movie that deserves more than what it actually got, the movie is magical and tells a beautiful story about two brothers. I truly adore this movie.
6. Luca
Pixar’s here again and now with Luca, an emotional and visually stunning story about friendship and acceptance, a Pixar classic and one of the best recent projects from the studio.
5. Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
Dreamworks had a very hard time though out the last years but Puss In Boots: The Last Wish changed everything when the studio brought us one of the best animated movies in recent years. 4. Pinocchio
The way we already saw this story so many times made me not very confident when watching this movie but WOW, Guillermo Del Toro really found his mark here. Pinocchio brings a creative and innovative retelling of a classic, I cried like a baby. Check out our thoughts here.
3. Soul
Pixar being Pixar… Soul is simply magnificent, a movie that shows us why life is worth and that every moment is worth it. The movie will make you cry and laugh with strong emotional beats in between. It’s a very important story and one of the most acclaimed movies from the studio.
2. The Mitchells Vs. The Machines
No matter what you say, The Mitchells Vs. The Machines is for me one of the best animated movies in the last couple years, it’s an enjoyable adventure with stunning visuals and charismatic characters, a must watch and a phenomenal job from Sony Pictures Animation.
1. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse
