EXCLUSIVE: Nicolas Cage Wants to Star in a Musical | TIFF 2022

The Hollywood Handle was on the red carpet tonight for the world premiere of the film “Butcher’s Crossing” and had the opportunity to ask Nicolas Cage which genre he’d like to dip his toes in next. Here’s his response:

Transcription:

The Hollywood Handle: “Butcher’s Crossing” is your first Western movie. Is this a genre you’re interested in coming back to, or do you want to dip your toes in something else?

Nicolas Cage: I’ve never done a musical, I would like to try that. That would be new for me. The Western is something that’s alluded me for 43 years, I don’t know why it took so long. People laugh when I say I’m from the West. They say “No, you’re from California”, well that’s as West as it gets! So it was a perfect fit for me and yeah, I would definitely do another Western.

Stay tuned for more of our coverage from TIFF over the next week and a half! We’ve got lots more on the way.
