Awkwafina Has Been Cast In ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ (First Report)

After a very successful sequel in Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, DreamWorks is back again for another sequel of a beloved franchise, and people can hype up their expectations because Kung Fu Panda 4 promises to be huge.

We recently been able to take a look at the trailer of the movie, that has been quickly taken down from the internet. We can confirm that Awkwafina has joined the cast of Kung Fu Panda 4, starring alongside Jack Black, who has recently seen his own success in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

However, details of the plot have not been officially revealed yet. During CinemaCon, we received some updates on the movie: Po is gearing up to become the spiritual leader of his Valley of Peace, but also needs someone to take his place as Dragon Warrior. As such, he will train a new kung fu practitioner for the spot and will encounter a villain called the Chameleon who conjures villains from the past.

The Kung Fu Panda series has been one of DreamWorks’ cornerstone properties next to Shrek, Madagascar, and How To Train Your Dragon. With three films and several television series under its belt, Kung Fu Panda has become one of the company’s most celebrated franchises.

The series follows the aspiring Po, who seeks to become the Dragon Warrior, an illustrious kung fu legend. However, when Tai Lung, an old apprentice of the wise Master Shifu, returns, Po must overcome all the odds to stop Tai Lung’s plans. Luckily, Po is able to find true power within himself to become the Dragon Warrior and bring peace to the world. Along his journey, Po, along with the Furious Five, come to fight more powerful villains including Lord Shen and Kai, all while realizing Po’s potential.

Kung Fu Panda 4 will release in theaters on March 8, 2024. The film is directed by Mike Mitchell and Stephanie Ma Stine.
