‘Five Nights At Freddy’s 2’ Is In The Works, Emma Tammi Returning As Director (Exclusive)

The horror movie hit adaptation Five Nights at Freddy’s is getting a sequel, and director Emma Tammi is coming back to helm the project. The Hollywood Handle has exclusively learned that Tammi, who directed the first film adaptation of the popular video game series, will return to direct Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which is expected to start production in 2024. It is unknown which other cast and crew will be returning for the sequel, but once production commences, more should be revealed to the public.

The first film, which was released on Peacock and in theaters simultaneously on October 27, 2023, starred Josh Hutcherson as Mike, a security guard who works at an abandoned pizzeria haunted by animatronic characters with a dark past. The film was produced by Blumhouse and Universal, and was based on the game created by Scott Cawthon, who also served as a co-writer and executive producer.

The movie has been a massive success, earning nearly $300 million at the worldwide box office on a $20 million budget, and is now Blumhouse’s highest grossing film ever, surpassing M. Night Shyamalan’s Split.
