Star Wars Composers ranked
With ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ coming to a conclusion we’ve ranked all of the composers in ‘Star Wars’ so far…
6 – Natalie Holt – ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’
In her first outing in the Galaxy Far Far Away, Natalie Holt was unable to bring much emotion to the small screen. The trailers for the shows featured the iconic ‘Duel of the Fates’ theme and most fans were disappointed when it didn’t feature in the show. Holt’s introduction to the ‘Star Wars’ universe left most fans disappointed.
5 – John Powel – Solo
Powell’s score for ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ was an interesting one infused with nostalgia. The most memorable theme was the ‘Enfys Nest’ theme.
4 – Michael Giacchino – Rogue One
It feels unfair putting Giacchino this low because his score for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ is one of the most beautiful scores in all of Star Wars. His themes for Jyn Erso and the Guardians of the Whills easily stand out as some of the best. However his take on the Imperial March, The Imperial Suite is one of the greatest themes introduced into modern Star Wars.
3 – Kevin Kiner – The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch
The main composer for all things animated in ‘Star Wars’. Kevin Kiner has produced some amazing scores along the way and his work on the final Clone Wars episode, ‘Victory and Death’, has some of the best music in all of Star Wars
2 – Ludwig Göransson – The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett
‘The Mandalorian’ theme tune is not just one of the most memorable in Star Wars but it is one of the most memorable theme tunes of all time. Having won 2 primetime emmys for his work on ‘The Mandalorian’, Ludwig Göransson was named the composer for ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ alongside Joseph Shirley, yet again Ludwig Göransson produced one of the most memorable Star Wars themes of all time.
1 – John Williams – Epsiodes I – IX
John Williams’ work on ‘Star Wars’ is some of his best. Each movie has another piece of music that fans want to listen to over and over again. If it wasn’t for Williams, Star Wars would not have been as successful as it is today. His best work is, ‘The Imperial March, ‘Duel of the Fates’ and ‘Battle of The Heroes’ as well as so much more.
